Jobs for America's Graduates – Kansas (JAG-K) is committed to partnering with students facing various barriers to complete high school and get on a successful career path that will help them reach their full potential.
As part of an elective class, JAG-K Career Specialists work with students on career and leadership development skills. Students are introduced to education, training and career opportunities they did not know existed. Campus visits, business tours and special guest speakers are part of the JAG-K experience that leads to successful paths, including college, vocational training, the U.S. military and directly into the workforce with marketable employment skills. JAG-K helps schools with graduation rates by working with many students who have been traditionally lost or forgotten and do not generally make a connection to their schools. In a feature unique to this program, JAG follows students beyond graduation for 12 months to monitor and assist students in gaining employment or entering post-secondary educational opportunities.
More than 90 percent of our students are graduating from high school and nearly 85 percent have successful post-secondary outcomes.
Below you will find some of our 2,700 JAG-K students. Each one of them is at that critical stage of their life trying to determine the next step between high school and their personal pathway to success.
We are looking for local businesses to encourage and inspire our students by offering a one or two day mentorship opportunity that would allow our students to get a first-hand look at a career of which they may be dreaming. You may even be mentoring your next best employee!
FOR BUSINESSES/MENTORS interested in allowing one of our students to shadow them please email Chuck Knapp at: Chuck.Knapp@jagkansas.org.
